Welcome to the CastleMTB Club website.

We have regular weekly club rides on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, with “Nick’s ride” also making a come back on Saturday mornings. The weekly rides take in the local trails around Castle Coch, Rudry, Machen Woods, Wylie, Ochrwyth and Machen Mast (Sea Saw trails side).

We also arrange away days with a mixture of XC rides or more technical rides, such as Afan Mast, Afan bike park, BPW, FOD (trail centre and natural trails), Cwmcarn, Smilog, Brecon XC rides, or sometimes we keep to local trails. We also arrange a couple of weekends away such as North Wales.

Away days/day trips and weekends away are only open to “paid” up CastleMTB members (see memberships for details)

All rides are posted up on our club Facebook page, if you are interested please join our Facebook page, alternatively email us on Castlemtb@gmail.com

Could you guys help us out, Chloe is a friend of mine who has dedicated herself to becoming a top level track cyclist with dreams of competing at the olympics, and she's well on her way despite the lack of support from BC so far in her career, it's all come from her, her parents or support from local cyclists. She has been selected for a competition to win a pair of Powermeter pedals that will help her train more efficiently and with more specificity. It takes two seconds, simply click on the post. LIKE it and SHARE it, the post with the most likes and shares gets the pedals.

Cyclepowermeters Talented Junior Competition presented by PowerTap Chloe Jones Chloe is a track cyclist that has recently decided to take up endurance as she used to specialise in sprint. She took up the sport at the late age of 14 competing in regional competitions, and in this short time she has gained a silver medal in the Junior Keirin at the National Track championships in 2016 and a Bronze medal in 2017. Adding to this with a silver in the Sprint competition at the Inter Regional Track Championships in 2016 and more recently a 3rd in a round of the National Women’s Omnium series as a Junior. Chloe has achieved this through hard work and commitment, she hasn’t had any support from the Great British Cycling pathway, she has done it on her own merit. The best experience for Chloe so far has been the Revolution Series, riding as a Hoy Future Star. This is a televised track cycling series where the youth were riding at the same competition as their heroes. There was a great atmosphere, sell-out crowds and all the youth riders were treated equally to the elite riders. Chloe loves her training as she now understands the importance of it. For the last year she has put 100% effort into her training, and it is now that she is seeing results from that. Racing is what keeps Chloe motivated, she loves to race because she gets to push herself to the limit and even if she doesn’t get a good result she still learns from her mistakes, but when she does get the results it makes her realise why she does the sport. For 2018 Chloe will continue with track being her main focus but will also continue to Crit race as this year she competed in a circuit series at Thruxton gaining a 1 st and a 2nd and overall finishing third in the series. But also focus on town centre races as we believe she will be well suited to this. Chloe is a very focused and determined athlete with a bright future ahead of her, we look forward to seeing how she progresses. To vote for Chloe to win the PowerTap P1 pedals please like and/or share this post. Each like and share count towards her total
